Tommy Blaize, the Strictly Come Dancing singer, brings his swing show of ballroom and Great American Songbook classics to Liverpool.
Tommy Blaize brings The Golden Age of Swing to Liverpool on Thursday 8 July 2027, with the show starting at 19:30. If his name sounds familiar, it's probably because he's been one of the most recognisable voices on British television for over two decades, best known as the lead singer on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
For this one, he's stepping out from the background and taking centre stage with a full live band. The show works its way through the ballroom and Great American Songbook classics of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dean Martin, with plenty more along the way. It's a broad run of the big names from that era, so you'll likely recognise a good few of the songs before the night is over.
He's not doing it alone, either. He's backed by a hand-picked ensemble of some of the UK's finest musicians, and the whole thing is described as a nostalgic musical experience that leans on his years of television presence to carry a full live room. It's a big band sound, with the focus on the voices and the classics rather than anything new.
