A puppet show bringing Eric Carle's stories to the stage, created by Jonathan Rockefeller, for all ages.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show comes to Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres from Tuesday 16 to Saturday 20 February 2027. It's a puppet show that brings Eric Carle's stories to the stage, created by Jonathan Rockefeller, and it's recommended for all ages.
The production is built around a menagerie of more than 75 larger-than-life puppets, led by the titular Very Hungry Caterpillar. It doesn't stop there, though: the show weaves in three more of Carle's stories, told through puppetry, original music and storytellers who keep the work true to the author's iconic artwork. It runs for one hour with no interval.
Rockefeller's version has been touring for more than a decade, performing over 3,500 times across more than 20 countries to over 3 million children. It picked up a Drama Desk nomination for Unique Theatrical Experience and the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Show, and drew acclaim from The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, Time Out and The Huffington Post.
