The Proclaimers return with their classic hits, with support from Amelia Coburn, on their Dentures Out world tour.
The Proclaimers play the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Sunday 18 October, with Amelia Coburn supporting. It's a Sunday night show, starting at 19:30, and it comes after a long break for the Scottish duo.
Craig and Charlie Reid are identical twins who formed the band in 1983. They built their following on a mix of pop, folk, punk and new wave, and they're best known for 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)', which became the theme for the film Benny & Joon and the Terry Fox Run charity event. 'Sunshine on Leith' and 'Letter from America' are two more of their well-known songs. Early on, producers were wary of their strong accent, and the twins refused to tone down the Scottish brogue — they wrote 'Throw the R Away' as a result. Their career spans more than three decades and inspired both a hit musical and a film. David Tennant called them 'probably my favourite band of all time' on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, and Coldplay's Chris Martin has called them 'a wonderful, wonderful band'.

Amelia Coburn opens the bill, and the whole thing takes place at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Hope Street, L1 9BP. The start time is 19:30 on Sunday 18 October.
