National tour of Simon Beaufoy's play, the stage adaptation of the film 'The Full Monty', celebrating the film's 30th anniversary.
The Full Monty comes to the Liverpool Empire from 21 to 26 June 2027, with the curtain going up at 19:30. It's Simon Beaufoy's stage adaptation of the hit Brit-flick, and it's touring the country as part of a major national run.
If you know the story, you'll remember where it starts: six down-on-their-luck Sheffield steelworkers facing redundancy and despair. They decide to form a male striptease act after seeing how excited their wives get at a local Chippendales engagement. Beyond the spectacle, the play looks at working-class struggles and the strength found in community bonds, a tale that's played to audiences around the world. This production is staged to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film that took British cinema by storm, and the boys are returning to the stage by popular demand. It leans on a raft of 90s hits and returns to where the story began, and it's suitable for mature audiences.
