Fully live 18+ standing show by Manchester band Sanctum Sanctorium through the dark alternative hits of the 1980s.
Sanctum Sanctorium bring their gothic and alternative rock show to Camp and Furnace on Friday 4 December, with the night running from 19:00 to 23:00. They're a five-piece live band from Manchester, born from a passion for the dark, dramatic sounds of 80s goth and alternative rock. They describe the show as a decade-defining experience, and they're clear about how they approach it: it's a fully live concert rather than a parody or an impersonation. The sound is built around atmospheric live vocals, guitar-driven soundscapes, haunting synths and driving basslines.
The set runs through the 80s dark alternative scene, drawing on gothic rock and post-punk classics by The Sisters of Mercy, The Cult, Killing Joke, The Cure, Bauhaus and Fields of the Nephilim. It's staged with swirling smoke and immersive lighting, and the whole thing is aimed squarely at fans of the gothic and dark alternative scene. If those names ring a bell, you've got a good idea of the ground they cover.
