Interactive smart-phone quiz night with prizes, hosted by @sphinx_uk at Newington Temple.
Newington Temple is hosting a quiz night on Monday 9 November, from 19:00 to 21:00, just off Bold Street. It's a general knowledge night with prizes to be won, and it runs as a brand new interactive smart-phone format rather than a traditional pen-and-paper quiz. Instead of scribbling answers on a sheet, you'll be using your phone to enter them, which keeps things moving and takes the guesswork out of the marking.
The night is hosted by @sphinx_uk, who'll be running the show. The format is described as an upbeat and engaging night of trivia, so it's more of a social thing than a serious competition. If you're used to the old-school way of doing things, it's worth keeping in mind that this is a smart-phone quiz, so you'll want to have your device charged and ready to go.

It's a good one to keep in mind if you're looking for something to do on a Monday evening in the city. The venue's regular quiz schedule is currently unconfirmed, so this is a standalone date rather than a weekly fixture. It runs from 19:00 to 21:00, so you're in and out in a couple of hours, and it's free to enter, with tickets available via Skiddle. If you've got a group that enjoys a bit of trivia, it's a straightforward way to spend a Monday night without spending anything on the door.
