North Wales Opera's production of Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly, staged by soprano Anne Williams-King in the original language.
North Wales Opera are back at St George's Hall on Saturday 5 December with Puccini's Madama Butterfly. It's a return to their Liverpool home, and they're bringing a production staged by the soprano Anne Williams-King, who's sung the title role to acclaim worldwide and now brings that experience to a traditional and moving portrayal. The staging is performed in the original language with no surtitles, and the house programme highlights the opera's most famous moments, including the humming chorus and the aria 'Un bel dì'.
Williams-King directs the production, with Andrew Charity as Musical Director and the ensemble SY1 led by Alex Postlethwaite. It's a double-bill day, with a matinee at 2:30pm and an evening performance at 7:00pm, both in the Concert Room. Tickets are £22 to £33, with early-bird and group discounts available, and children aged five and over admitted with their own ticket and an adult. If you leave it until the day, it's up to £35 at the door, subject to availability.
