Live show by the American grindcore band Pig Destroyer at Arts Club - Loft on Seel Street.
Pig Destroyer play Arts Club - Loft on Thursday 12 November, with the night starting at 18:30. It's a single-band bill, so they're the only name on the poster.
If you're not familiar with them, Pig Destroyer are an American grindcore band formed in 1997. Grindcore is a fast, aggressive style that sits at the extreme end of the metal spectrum, and they've been working within it for nearly three decades. One of the things that sets them apart from most other bands in the genre is their studio sound: they notably lack a bass guitar on their albums. It's a choice that leaves the guitar and drums to carry the low end, and it's become a defining part of their identity over the years.
They've been around since the late nineties, so they're not newcomers to the scene. The set will be their own material, and since they're the sole feature of the night, they'll be taking up the full slot. It's a straightforward evening of grindcore, with no supporting acts to work around.
