Daytime rock and metal party for over 30s with four hours of hits from the decades, with a strict over-30s door policy.
An Afternoon of Rock returns to the Arts Club Loft on Saturday 7 November, a few months after its sold-out launch here in March. It's presented by Club de Fromage, and the whole thing runs from 3pm to 7pm, so you're out by early evening with the rest of your Saturday still in front of you.
The music is a mix of rock, hair metal, pop-punk, grunge and nu-metal hits spanning several decades, rather than sticking to one particular era. It's four hours of that running through the afternoon, and the 7pm finish is a deliberate part of the format — the idea is that you can have your fill of rock and still be home or out at the local bars for the evening. It's a daytime party, so it works if you're not one for late nights or if you've got things to do the next morning.
There's a strict door policy to keep in mind: it's for over 30s, and no one under 30 is admitted, so you'll need to bring ID. It's not the only city where this has run — they've sold out previous editions in London, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, and they describe it as the UK's biggest daytime rock and metal party for over 30s.
