Free screening of the film 'The People's Emergency Briefing' followed by a facilitated open discussion about the climate and nature crisis.
Christ Church, Toxteth Park is hosting a screening of The People's Emergency Briefing on Wednesday 21 October, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The night works in two halves: first the film, then a facilitated open discussion. It's part of the 'Season of Creation' programme running across local churches, and the screening itself belongs to the People's Emergency Briefings collection.
The film brings together nine leading UK scientists and experts, and it's based on the National Emergency Briefing given in Westminster, which was featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times and included appearances by Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden. It sets out what the climate and nature crisis means for everyday life in the UK, covering extreme weather, food security, health and the cost of living. The whole session runs for about two hours, and it's recommended for ages 16 and over.
