Beginner-friendly acrylic workshop to turn a photo of your pet into a hand-painted portrait, with paint, sip and connect.
Kamilyart is running a 'Paint Your Pet' workshop at Pocket Cafe Bar on Sunday 1 November, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. It's a beginner-friendly acrylic session where you turn a photo of your favourite pet into a hand-painted portrait, and the whole thing is built around the 'paint, sip and connect' format — painting while you have a drink and a chat with the people around you.
One of the best bits is that you don't have to worry about the drawing part. Each person gets a canvas with their pet's outline already pre-drawn, so you can focus on the painting rather than stressing over getting the proportions right. From there, you'll be guided through colour mixing, layering, and adding the finer details that bring the portrait to life. No prior painting experience is needed, and all the materials are provided, so you just need to bring a photo of your pet and show up ready to paint.
The session runs for two hours and is suitable for ages 12 and over, which makes it a decent option if you're bringing a teenager along. It's a relaxed, guided afternoon rather than a high-pressure class, so it works as well for a solo trip as it does for a catch-up with friends.
