Annual lecture by Professor Candy McCabe on supporting people to live well and die well with chronic pain, marking 25 years of the Pain Relief Foundation.
Professor Candy McCabe is delivering the Pain Relief Foundation 25th Annual Lecture at the Clinical Sciences Centre, Aintree University Hospital on Thursday 22 October. Her talk is titled Supporting people to live well and die well with chronic pain, and it's being chaired by Professor Michelle Briggs and Professor Roger Knaggs. Dr Gillian Chumbley OBE will also be there to give an appreciation of Felicia Cox's life and achievements.
There's a bit of history to this one. The lecture has run for 25 years in memory of Felicia Cox FRCN, MSc, RN, a colleague and friend whose work in pain management, nursing leadership, research, education and professional organisations left a lasting mark on the field. She was the first nurse to receive the honour. This year's lecture sits within the society's themed year, AI, Technology and Innovation in Pain Management, so it's part of a wider conversation they're having about where the field is heading.
