One-day youth ministry conference run by the Liverpool Diocese for children and youth workers, volunteers and clergy, with keynote speakers and practical workshops.
On the Shelf is a one-day youth ministry conference run by the Liverpool Diocese, taking place at Mossley Hill Parish Church on Saturday 17 October. It's aimed at children's and youth workers, volunteers, and clergy, and it runs from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The day is built around a single question: what lessons can we take from the past, and what do they mean for the future of youth ministry? It's a mix of keynote contributions and practical workshops, so you'll get a bit of listening and a bit of doing.
The line-up brings together a fair few voices from across the field. Bishop Ruth Worsley, the Interim Bishop of Liverpool, is one of the keynote speakers and chairs the afternoon panel. She's joined by Ali Campbell, founder of The Resource and CEO of Paraklesis; Dr Sarah Holmes, a senior lecturer in early childhood studies at Liverpool Hope University; Dr Anne Casson, a researcher in children's spirituality; and Nick Harding, a children's ministry consultant and author. The whole day is hosted by Revd Mary Hawes, Revd Rachel Archer, Revd Lizzie Holland, and Sue Mitchell. There's also a video message from Archbishop Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York.

Between the talks, the practical workshops are where you can actually get stuck in and work through the ideas. The morning focuses on the keynote contributions, and the afternoon shifts to the panel chaired by Bishop Worsley. Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but you'll need to bring your own lunch. It's £10 per delegate, with a group discount available if you're coming with a team.
