A hilarious comedy farce about Greek mythology, with three actors playing 40 characters in a fast-paced physical comedy.
Oh Zeus! comes to the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres from Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 June 2027. It's a brand-new theatrical farce set in Ancient Greece, and the premise is as much about the staging as the story: three actors play 40 characters. The plot follows Zeus, King of the Gods, as he hatches a plan to derail the wedding of his daughter Hebe to a mortal. From there, it leans into physical comedy, outrageous jokes and fast-paced chaos, with more togas on stage than the audience can smash.
The company describes it as a farce in the vein of Fawlty Towers, Bottom and The Play That Goes Wrong, so if you like your comedy loud, physical and a bit frantic, this is exactly that. It's staged by one of the UK's most-loved comedy theatre companies, the ones behind Dracula: The Bloody Truth and King Arthur and Treasure Island, and written and directed by Olivier Award-nominated John Nicholson, who also did The Time Machine: A Comedy.
