Oakenthrone, the atmospheric black metal project of Simon Nagington, play Outpost in Liverpool on their UK headline tour.
Oakenthrone play Outpost on Friday 11 December, as part of their UK headline tour. They're an atmospheric black metal band, and this is one of the dates they're taking their new album across the country.
There's a bit of a story to how they got here. Oakenthrone started in 2022 as a solo project run by Simon Nagington, who writes the music. For the first couple of years, it stayed that way, and they put out two cassette EPs — Embers of Reverie in 2024 and Astral Binding & The Oathsworn in 2025 — both of which sold out. In 2025, the project expanded into a four-piece live unit, with Nathan Caven, Andrew Hunt and Ant Hurlock joining Nagington on stage. That's the line-up you'll see at Outpost.
Their debut album, Ad Silvam, comes out through Vendetta Records. The band recorded it themselves at Ritual Studios, and the artwork is by Simon Chognot. The show at Outpost is one of the dates on the tour they're running to support it, so you'll hear the new material live. They're not playing alone, either — they'll be joined by special guests on the night.
