Nirvana UK, a tribute band to Nirvana, plays the O2 Academy Liverpool with support from GONDOLAS.
Nirvana UK play the O2 Academy Liverpool on Saturday 17 October, with GONDOLAS opening the night. It's a tribute act rather than the original band, and they're open about that from the start. They describe themselves as a Nirvana tribute that strives to be as close to the real deal as possible, and they go about it by matching the gear: they use the same instruments, effect boxes and pre-amps that Nirvana used to re-create the band's distinctive sound. The set covers the whole of Nirvana's live and studio catalogue, so you'll hear the studio recordings alongside the live versions, rather than just the radio singles. The group is fronted by Elvana, who takes on the vocals. The Liverpool date is part of a three-date UK tour, so this is one of only three stops they're making across the country. Doors open at 19:00, and the curfew is 23:00, giving you plenty of time to get in and settle before the music starts.
