Hot Water Comedy are running a New Year's Eve special at Blackstock Market on Thursday 31 December, with two shows that afternoon and evening. The club has made the market its new home, and this is one of the big ones they've got lined up for the end of the year.
The line-up brings together four regulars. Danny McLoughlin was a Chortle Student Comedian of the Year finalist in 2008 and played the 2009 Edinburgh Festival; Tony Carroll has been a regular headliner since 2010; Callum Oakley was Hot Water Comedian of the Year in 2017 and has been doing stand-up since he was 14; and Bethany Black does dark, confessional comedy that The Guardian called 'dark-tinged but magical'.
It's worth keeping in mind where this is. Blackstock Market is Liverpool's biggest food market, with live music nightly, a roof terrace, a whisky bar and a cocktail bar, and the venue serves food and drink around the shows. Hot Water Comedy itself is based here in the city with two award-winning, purpose-built rooms, and they run a Patreon that's grown into one of the biggest comedy communities on the planet.

There are two shows on the day: one at 16:00 and another at 19:00, with doors opening at 17:30 and the evening show finishing by 20:30, so you're out well before the midnight rush. A standard ticket is £25.
