New comedians perform their first stand-up routines at Hot Water Comedy, the long-running new act night of the Liverpool comedy club.
Hot Water Comedy brings its New Act Night to Blackstock Market on Sunday 12 September, with the show starting at 19:00. It's one of the Northwest's longest-running new act nights, and the premise is as straightforward as it sounds: comedians take to the stage to perform their first ever stand-up routines in front of a core following of die-hard comedy fans. The material blends observational and satirical humour, and since these are debut sets, you're seeing them right at the start.
Hot Water Comedy is based here in Liverpool, where it runs award-winning, purpose-built comedy venues. The club was founded in 2010 by brothers Paul and Binty Blair and has launched many acts who've gone on to headline clubs, sell out tours, win awards and appear on television, among them resident MC Paul Smith. Its mascot, Wally Water, has become one of the most recognisable comedy logos in the UK and around the world. The club has also built one of the biggest comedy communities on the planet, with a Patreon page that serves full-length shows to fans worldwide.
