Weekly Sunday night of stand-up where comedians perform their first-ever routines in front of a regular comedy crowd.
New Act Comedy Night is back at Hot Water Comedy Club on Sunday 10 January, one of the Northwest's longest-running and most established nights for new material. It's a weekly Sunday fixture, and the whole point is exactly what it says on the tin: comedians regularly perform their first-ever stand-up routines on stage in front of a core following of die-hard comedy fans. It's pitched as a supportive night for those who like their comedy raw, so you're seeing the work as it's being built, not the polished version that's made it to a tour.
The club's purpose-built home is at Blackstock Market, and the main room is a 589-seat auditorium that's hosted some of the biggest names in comedy. It's not the only stage on site, though — there's also the smaller 227-seat Wally's Room and the 147-seater The Barn, which provide further stages for some of the best regular live stand-up nights in Liverpool. Between the three, there's plenty of comedy going on across the market.

Because it's a new act night, the line-up changes every week and the material is always fresh, with comedians testing out new bits and refining their sets in front of a live crowd. It's a Sunday night, so it's a good way to cap off the weekend without having to stay out too late. The club is based at Blackstock Market in Liverpool, and the New Act Comedy Night runs every Sunday.
