Interactive murder mystery Halloween show where you put your detective skills to the test, based on the 'Ghostly Goings On! LIVE!' series.
DBY Interactive are bringing their Murder Mystery: Halloween Special to the Everyman Theatre on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, both nights starting at 7:30pm. It's an interactive show where you're asked to put your detective skills to the test, and it's built around the Ghostly Goings On! LIVE! series.
If you're not familiar with that, the series follows psychic Mystic Maud, the G.U.F team, and Darren Fortune visiting some of Britain's most notorious paranormal hot spots. This stage show takes that format and turns it into a murder mystery, with the team hunting the real-life ghosts behind the spooky activities at the Everyman Theatre. They'll be referencing documented supernatural sightings in the area as they go, so it's rooted in the local lore rather than just generic hauntings.
It's worth knowing the tone before you book: this is a comedy, spoof, zany parody, not a scare attraction. The whole thing is set around a paranormal investigation at a fictional Liverpool theatre, and it runs for about two and a half hours. There's also age guidance of 12+, so it's more of a night out for adults and older teens than a family outing for the little ones. If you're in the mood for something a bit more atmospheric, the Everyman is running Ghosts & Spirits alongside it, which pairs three ghost stories with cocktails.
