Liverpool artist MT Jones brings his debut album 'Joy' to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
MT Jones is back at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Friday 13 November, this time with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra providing the accompaniment. It's being billed as his biggest show to date, and for a Liverpool artist, it's a significant step up from where he started.
The evening is built around Joy, his debut album released on Jacaranda Records, so that's the material you'll be hearing. The whole thing is backed by the full orchestra, which changes the scale of the songs from the record. If you've heard Joy on its own, this is a different way of experiencing it.
Jones' rise has been unusually steep. Three years ago he was playing at The Jacaranda Club to barely 80 people; now he's returning to the city's big stage. His fascination with music started with a trip to see Stevie Wonder, and he grew up on the Beatles, Carole King and other 1960s greats. His voice captures the timeless feel of those artists while adding a contemporary twist, and that's the sound he's bringing to the Philharmonic.

It's a local artist playing his debut album with one of the city's biggest orchestras, so it's a homecoming of sorts. The concert starts at 19:30 at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
