Lunchtime concert by clarinetist Miquel Ramos Salvadó and pianist Àlex Ramírez Gama with works by Schumann, Widmann and Brahms.
Miquel Ramos Salvadó is taking the stage at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Monday 21 June 2027, as part of the orchestra's Lunchtime Concert series. It's a midday slot, starting at 13:00 and running for an hour, so it's one of those things you can fit into a working day rather than having to clear your evening for. The performance is held in the Music Room, the smaller, more intimate space within the Philharmonic, which suits a duo like this better than the main hall.
Salvadó is the section leader clarinet for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, so he's a familiar face around the building, and he's leading this programme alongside pianist Àlex Ramírez Gama. Together they'll be working through pieces by Robert Schumann, Widmann, and Brahms — a mix that puts the Romantic staples of Schumann and Brahms alongside the more contemporary voice of Widmann. It's a programme that lets the clarinet take the lead, with the piano providing the accompaniment.
The concert sits within the wider 2026-27 season of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the UK's oldest symphony orchestra. That season is led by Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan, now entering his sixth year with the orchestra, and it's shaped around two big anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of Benjamin Britten's death and the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth. This particular performance is sponsored by Maestro!.
