Traditional Irish music ensemble Téada, celebrating 25 years on the road, plays The Music Room at the Liverpool Irish Festival 2026.
Téada play The Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Friday 23 October, as part of the Liverpool Irish Festival 2026. They're celebrating 25 years on the road, and the set comes at a time when they're one of Irish traditional music's most celebrated ensembles. An American critic once described them as 'arguably the most vibrant and hard-working traditional Irish music ensemble in the world today'.
The gig sits within a ten-day festival that runs from 15 to 25 October, with satellite events stretching from 1 October to 2 November and a Samhain Céilí to close it. This year's theme is 'I Am Here', rooted in the story of the 1.8 million Irish Famine poor who entered Liverpool through Clarence Dock between 1845 and 1853. The festival also acts as custodian of the Liverpool Irish Famine Trail and bills itself as an all-Ireland approach that amplifies the year-round Irish services available in the city, with traditional music seisiúns, céilí, theatre and heritage walks. Opening the festival is transplant survivor, storyteller and musician Enda McCabe.
