Beginner sewing workshop for children from age 7 and up, covering how to use a sewing machine and basic projects, with materials and snacks included.
Learn to Sew for Kids and Teens is running at 1 Aspen Grove in Toxteth, with sessions on Saturdays at 10:00. The course is built for absolute beginners who've never touched a sewing machine before, so you don't need to know a thing about it to start. Over the weeks, it covers how a machine actually works, how to thread it, and a few basic projects to get you moving. If you've already got your own materials or a machine at home, you're more than welcome to bring them along.
It's aimed at ages seven and up, but adults are welcome too. You can either stay and sew along with the kids or just drop your child off and leave them to it. The organiser has more than 15 years' experience teaching arts and crafts to children and adults, holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and has worked with children and adults with special needs, with the aim of keeping the space creative, safe and inclusive for everyone.
