Live show by KillerStar, the art rock and glam rock tribute band to David Bowie, at The Cavern Club Live Lounge.
KillerStar play The Cavern Club on Tuesday 17 November, with the show starting at 7:30 pm. They're an art rock collective fronted by songwriter Rob Fleming and drummer James Sedge, and this date brings them to the Live Lounge inside the club.
Their debut album, The Afterglow, was co-produced by Dave Eringa, who's worked with the Manic Street Preachers and The Who. They describe the record as a blend of glam rock, art rock and hooky pop with touches of jazz, and that's the sound they bring to the stage. The live line-up draws from David Bowie's most trusted collaborators: Mike Garson, Earl Slick and Mark Plati all join Fleming and Sedge. They're rounded out by Dom Beken and Lee Harris, both from Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, and backing vocalists Ulrika Bergelind and Gail Windrass.
It's a heavy-hitting band for a Tuesday night. The live shows have picked up four-star reviews from The Times, Mojo and RNR Magazine, and they've come off a sold-out three-night residency at The 100 Club in London and a New York date earlier this year. If you've followed them, you'll know they're a tribute to David Bowie, and having his former band members on stage is a good part of that.
