Free lunchtime jazz, R&B and neo-soul concert by Liverpool singer-songwriter Jemimah Akaunu, part of the Yoko Ono Lennon Lunchtime Concert Series.
Jemimah Akaunu plays The Tung Auditorium on Wednesday 25 November, starting at 1:00pm. It's a lunchtime session that runs for about 50 minutes, so it's a relatively short one that fits into a working day rather than taking up your whole evening.
Jemimah is an 18-year-old Liverpool singer-songwriter who's been described as one of the city's most exciting young voices. Her sound draws on jazz, R&B and neo-soul, and she combines rich, soulful vocals with a genuine love of performance. She's currently developing her own original music and a distinctive sound, and has already built a name for herself through professional shows and theatres across the region.
The session is part of the Yoko Ono Lennon Lunchtime Concert Series, a relaxed half-term series open to all that explores the colours of the piano. It's presented in partnership with Decks In The City and supported by Yoko Ono Lennon via Spirit Foundations. This particular booking replaces the Joseph Ankrah Celebration Concert that was previously advertised, so if you'd been keeping an eye on the schedule, this is the one that's taken its place.
