An evening of queer creativity where local artists share work-in-progress pieces at a Scratch Night, presented in collaboration with Homotopia.
Homotopia and Unity Theatre are teaming up for a Scratch Night on Wednesday 25 November, a night of queer performance that sits within the Homotopia Festival 2026: We Come Together. The festival is the UK's longest-running LGBTQIA+ arts and culture celebration, and this year it returns to Liverpool across October and November, with queer creativity spread across the city through performance, visual art, film, music, comedy, club culture, workshops and conversation.
As a scratch night, the evening works as a platform for new performance. Local artists share short extracts from work-in-progress pieces and experimental shorts, a format that lets creators take risks, play with form and road-test ideas in front of a supportive, lively audience. It's less about a finished show and more about seeing things while they're still being worked on. The night is billed as 'bold, daring and unapologetically queer'.
The line-up for the evening is Jade O'Shaughnessy, Laura-Bee Jones, Misha Mond and Olive Payne. Each will bring a different piece to the bill, so you'll get a few distinct voices and styles in one sitting rather than a single long show. Between them, they'll be sharing those extracts and experimental shorts that the scratch format is built for.
