Author talk by Harry Whittaker, son of Lucinda Riley, about the world of her 'Seven Sisters' series at Linghams Booksellers.
Harry Whittaker is in conversation at Linghams Booksellers on Thursday 5 November, starting at 19:00. He's the son of Lucinda Riley and co-author of Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt, which hit number one on the international bestseller lists. The talk draws on the world of Riley's Seven Sisters series, and Atlas is the dual-timeline sequel that brings back Orlando Forbes, the antiquarian bookseller first introduced in The Shadow Sister.
It's a fitting spot for a talk about a bookseller. Linghams Booksellers is on Telegraph Road in Heswall, and it's a proper old-school shop known for its collection of rare and first edition books. It's been trading continuously since the late 19th century, and it's regarded as one of the UK's most significant independent bookstores, so it's exactly the kind of place where a character like Orlando Forbes would feel at home.
If you've followed the Seven Sisters series, you'll know the books are built around family secrets and a sprawling, multi-generational mystery. Atlas takes that further, with its dual timelines and its focus on the antiquarian book trade, so the conversation should go right into the heart of how that world works. It's a chance to hear from one of the people who helped bring the story to life.
