Stand-up comedy show No Dramas by Ed Byrne, touring the Everyman and Playhouse theatres.
Ed Byrne brings his new stand-up show No Dramas to the Playhouse on Thursday 29 April 2027, as part of a tour stopping at the Everyman and Playhouse theatres. It's a full evening of comedy, running an hour and fifty minutes with an interval in the middle, so you'll have a bit of a breather halfway through.
The title sets the scene: Byrne plays a character who just wants to live a life free of hassle and drama, only to find the world has other plans for him. He's been billed as the 'conquistador of petty gripes', and that's exactly what he does on stage — he airs his grievances against a world that seems hell-bent on irritating us. If you've ever spent a whole day getting worked up over the small things that just won't go right, you'll recognise the territory he's working in.
It's a long set, and the reviews suggest it holds up. Chortle called it 'funny above all else', Rolling Stone UK described it as 'hilarious... verging on greatness', and the Evening Standard went with 'fantastically funny'. Between those three, the consensus is that the comedy stays front and centre throughout the full run.
