Stand-up show 'Quartz and All' by Manchester comedian Dan Tiernan at the Music Room of the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
Dan Tiernan brings his new show, Quartz and All, to the Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Sunday 1 November. It's a stand-up set from a Manchester comedian who's spent the last few years building a bit of a reputation on the festival circuit.
Tiernan is a three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, and the Guardian called him "one of comedy's most distinctive new voices". He's put together a hat trick of sold-out Edinburgh runs and has popped up on Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg and QI. Critics have described his work as "loud, inventive, visceral" and "one of the most compelling voices to emerge in stand-up in recent years".
He's a Manchester native, and his set draws on being a gay, dyspraxic Mancunian working in a care home for young asylum seekers. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one hour. He's also a regular on the competition circuit: he was nominated for best newcomer at the 2022 Chortle Awards, named breakthrough act at the North West Comedy Awards, and has made the finals of the new act competitions run by the Leicester and Bath comedy festivals and London's Leicester Square Theatre.
