Free concert by local violin students taught by Peter Morgan, playing Christmas carols, popular classics and traditional Irish music.
Peter Morgan's violin students are playing at the Palm House in Sefton Park on Sunday 6 December, starting at 13:00. It's a showcase of local students taught by Morgan, a Liverpool violin and fiddle teacher, and the bill is built around Christmas carols, popular classics and traditional Irish music.
It's not just a single group on stage. The music is played on violin, viola and cello, and the set moves through different formats: solo pieces, duets, quartets and full ensemble numbers. The carols and classics sit alongside the Irish tunes, and the audience is invited to sing along with the carols, so it's a bit more of a shared thing than a sit-and-listen concert. The mix of solo and ensemble playing means you'll hear individual students step forward as well as the whole group working together.
