Touring Christmas musical based on the film Elf, about Buddy the elf who grows up too tall for the North Pole, at the Liverpool Empire.
BOST Musicals are bringing Elf The Musical to the Liverpool Empire, with the run kicking off on Thursday 19 November. It's a stage adaptation of the Christmas film Elf, so if you've seen that, you've got the gist of it: Buddy, who as a baby accidentally crawled into Santa's toy sack and was whisked away to the North Pole, grows up as an elf. The problem is he grows far too tall and isn't exactly skilled at toy-making, and he quickly becomes the North Pole's most lovable misfit.
It's a funny, heart-warming story, and since it's a musical, the whole thing is told through songs rather than just dialogue. The run starts on Thursday 19 November at 7:00pm, with a show on Friday 20 November at 7:00pm as well. The weekend is when the schedule really opens up: on Saturday 21 November there are three performances — 11:00am, 3:00pm, and 7:00pm — and Sunday 22 November follows the same pattern with 11:00am, 3:00pm, and 7:00pm. After that, the run continues through the rest of the month, with shows on Monday 23, Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25, Thursday 26, Friday 27, Saturday 28, Sunday 29, and Monday 30 November. With that many dates and times to choose from, it's easy to fit it around your plans, whether you're after a weekday evening or a weekend matinee.

Tickets start from £17, so it's a fairly accessible one for a big theatre run. The run spans nearly two full weeks, from the opening on the 19th through to the final show on the 30th, with the Empire playing host to the whole thing throughout.
