LGBTQ+ board game meet-up with Halloween-themed games and costumes at Lovelocks Coffee Shop, with a donation model.
Board Gaymes are back at Lovelocks Coffee Shop on Friday 30 October, from 7pm to 10pm, for a Halloween special. Board Gaymes is an LGBTQ+ board game collective that runs social meet-ups across the city, and this one is themed for the season: horror games are recommended to get into the spirit, and costumes are appreciated, though you don't have to wear one to join in.
The night is BYOBG, so bring along your own board games. The organisers only carry a small stock, so the more people bring, the more there is to choose from. Lovelocks serves drinks and cakes, with vegan and gluten-free options available, so you can keep the snacks going between rounds. If you're not sure what to bring, a horror-themed game fits the bill, but anything you enjoy will do.
On the practical side, the venue is on the ground floor with two gender-neutral toilets, one of which is accessible. Support workers and carers can attend for free. The organisers do note that the space can get loud and overwhelming for anyone with sensory issues, and there's no quiet area available, so keep that in mind if you're planning your night. You can find the collective on Instagram at @boardgaymesliverpool.

It's a donation model, which replaces the £3.50 per ticket they've used previously to cover venue hire and staff costs. Lovelocks is at 27 Old Haymarket, Liverpool L1 6ER, and the session runs from 7pm to 10pm on Friday 30 October.
