In-person visual arts workshop led by artist Nina Edge at the Royal Liver Building, presented by BlackFest.
Nina Edge is running a visual arts workshop at The Royal Liver Building on Wednesday 21 October, part of the BlackFest 2026 programme. It's an in-person session, so you'll be working alongside her rather than just watching from the back.
Edge is a visual artist, writer and urban design activist whose practice covers a lot of ground. She works with radical textiles and ceramics, street performance, public art and short films, and she describes herself as a dual-heritage British Asian woman. She trained as a ceramicist and built her reputation on using low-status craft materials to challenge established artistic hierarchies. Her work developed alongside the political Black British Art movement of the 1980s, and she's spent a good deal of her career working with communities on collaborative projects. In Liverpool, that includes the Princes Park Health Centre and Granby Winter Garden; she's also worked on West Close in Cardiff Bay.
