Family art session in which families take on an art challenge with gallery facilitators and create a masterpiece to take home.
Big Art Special: Art Sparks is a family art activity running at the Big Art gallery in Liverpool on Saturday 24 October. It's led by the gallery's facilitators, so you're not just left to your own devices — there's someone on hand to help you through it.
The format is straightforward: families take on an art challenge together and work their way to a finished piece to take home. It's designed as a shared activity, so it's as much about doing it with your kids as it is about what you end up making. There's also self-led time to wander the gallery and make use of its resources, so you can take a break from the making and have a proper look around.
One thing worth knowing is where it sits within the building. The session runs alongside Big Art for Little Artists, a dedicated children's gallery inside the Walker Art Gallery that's aimed at the 0-5 age group to explore with their grown-ups. If you've got very young ones in tow, that's right there too.
