String quartet Afterglow Orchestra reimagines the hits of Queen and ABBA by candlelight in the historic Mossley Hill Parish Church.
Afterglow Orchestra are bringing their reimagined takes on Queen and ABBA to Mossley Hill Parish Church on Friday 5 February 2027. It's a string quartet taking on two of the biggest pop catalogues in history, and they're doing it by candlelight inside the church on Rose Lane.
That's the core of it: the music of ABBA and Queen stripped back to a string quartet and played by candlelight. The set works its way through the hits you've heard a thousand times — Dancing Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Mamma Mia and The Winner Takes It All are among the songs they'll be playing. It's an independent tribute concert, so it's not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with ABBA, Queen or their representatives.
The Liverpool date is part of a UK-wide tour of intimate live string performances by candlelight, staged in churches and historic venues across the country. The Liverpool stop is at Mossley Hill Parish Church (also known as Mossley Hill Church) on Rose Lane, L18 8DB. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the performance runs from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
