Screening of the Aaron Sorkin screenplay film The Social Reckoning, a true David and Goliath story about a Facebook engineer and a Wall Street Journal reporter.
The Social Reckoning opens at Hyde Park Picture House on Saturday 17 October, with screenings running through to Thursday 22 October. It's an original Aaron Sorkin screenplay, with Mikey Madison as Frances Haugen and Jeremy Allen White as Jeff Horwitz, and it's being presented by Columbia Pictures.
If you remember The Social Network, this is built as its companion piece. It takes its lead from the real-life whistleblower who sparked the social media reckoning we've been talking about for years, and it plays out as a David and Goliath story: a young Facebook engineer teams up with a Wall Street Journal reporter on a dangerous journey that blows the whistle on the network's most guarded secrets. It's a 15, runs 1 hour 52 minutes, and contains strobe lighting.
The Hyde Park Picture House is a nationally connected, locally focused community cinema that describes itself as an inclusive space to explore and discover. They run accessible screenings including toddler-friendly, autism-friendly, audio description, captioned, and Pay What You Can, and they have a membership scheme and a members' journal.
