Intimate evening of songs, stories and silliness with Nik Kershaw, to coincide with the release of his new book.
Nik Kershaw plays City Varieties Music Hall on Thursday 22 April 2027, starting at 7:30pm. The evening is billed as Musings and Lyrics, an intimate show to coincide with the release of his new book, and it's described as songs, stories and silliness from one of the nation's most-loved performers.
Most will know him from the early eighties, when he burst onto the UK pop scene in 1984 with singles like 'Wouldn't it Be Good', 'The Riddle' and 'I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'. Those three kept him on the UK Singles Chart for 62 weeks and made him the UK's biggest-selling solo artist that year. He played Live Aid in 1985, and then stepped back from the spotlight to focus on writing and producing for others. He penned Chesney Hawkes's 'The One and Only' and worked with Elton John, Lulu, Petula Clark, The Hollies, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan, Let Loose, Sia, Imogen Heap, Gary Barlow and Bonnie Tyler.

He returned to performing in 1998 and has since put out a series of critically acclaimed albums. This particular show is built around his new book, so the songs sit alongside the stories and the silliness he's known for. It runs for about an hour and 50 minutes including the interval, and parental guidance is recommended. Tickets are £39.
