Instore session and signing by Murkage Dave for his album 'Brut Thoughts' at the independent record shop Crash Records.
Murkage Dave is playing Crash Records on Tuesday 27 October, an in-store session and signing around his new album, Brut Thoughts. It's a small-scale afternoon, with the performance starting at 6pm.
Dave has spent a decade working his way towards this one. He describes his music as loosely pop, though it draws as much from indie and outsider art as it does from storytelling. It's a singular voice that's caught the attention of Pharrell Williams and Iggy Pop, and earned its place in the pages of The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Clash, Complex and Vogue, with BBC Radio 6 Music keeping it on the air. The new record, Brut Thoughts, is the focus here, and the session is built around it.
He's not new to the charts, either. His 2018 debut, Murkage Dave Changed My Life, has run up over 12 million Spotify streams, and 2022's The City Needs A Hero hit number 10 on the UK iTunes Chart and number 15 on the UK Independent Chart. This is a chance to hear the new material live and get a copy signed in person.
