Family fantasy film Momo and the Time Thieves, part of the Hyde & Seek strand, with an autism-friendly screening.
Momo and the Time Thieves is playing at Hyde Park Picture House on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November. It's a family fantasy film, and it's part of the cinema's Hyde & Seek strand, which is their dedicated family programme.
If you're not familiar with the cinema, Hyde Park Picture House is on Brudenell Road in Headingley. It opened in 1914 as one of the country's most distinctive and historic cinemas β the Yorkshire Evening Post called it 'the cosiest in Leeds' back then. It's survived the arrival of talkies, radio, television, video, multiplexes and the internet to stay a friendly, local, independent cinema showing independent, documentary and classic films from around the globe, supported by a loyal base of staff, volunteers, members and even the odd Hollywood A-lister. The venue recently had conservation work done to its faΓ§ade and auditorium, and new accessible facilities including a second screen.
Hyde & Seek is the cinema's family-friendly strand, run by their Young Audiences Officer Sylvia with input from the wider programming team and the Independent Cinema Office. It's a regular thing: toddler-friendly screenings on Fridays, free crafts on Saturdays and autism-friendly sessions on Sundays, many on a pay-what-you-can basis. Momo and the Time Thieves fits right into that, with an autism-friendly screening as part of the run.
