Stand-up show in which Lucy Beaumont turns her quiz-show misadventures and personal chaos into comedy.
Lucy Beaumont brings her new show, Bad at Quiz Shows, Good with Weirdos, to City Varieties Music Hall on Thursday 11 February and Sunday 20 June 2027, both starting at 8:00pm. If you've followed her on TV, you'll recognise the title as a nod to the kind of chaos she's become known for.
Beaumont first made a name for herself on Taskmaster and through her award-winning sitcom, and she's since built a reputation on the stand-up circuit following a sell-out debut UK tour. The show draws on her on-screen quiz-show misadventures — she once lost a contestant £79,000 on The Wheel and forgot to revise for Mastermind — and on real-life mishaps, like going into hiding after Celebrity Traitors and creating cow udder couture on The Great British Sewing Bee. It's an evening of chaotic brilliance, mayhem and surreal storytelling, and it doesn't stop at the public mishaps: she also talks about her ADHD diagnosis, her divorce and her lack of privacy.
It's a fair amount of material to get through, too. The show runs for about an hour and fifty minutes, including the interval, so you'll be in for a full night rather than a quick set. There's an age guidance of 14+, with parental guidance recommended, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're thinking of bringing anyone younger.
