Live show by the Brooklyn trio Gooseberry, blending alternative rock, indie and blues, at Northern Guitars Cafe Bar.
Gooseberry play Northern Guitars Cafe Bar on Saturday 31 October, starting at 9:30 PM. They're a Brooklyn trio formed in 2019 around Asa Daniels on guitar and vocals, Evin Rossington on drums and Will Hammond on bass, and they work across alternative rock, indie and blues.
Much of what they'll be playing comes from their debut full-length album, All My Friends Are Cattle, which they released in September 2024. It was tracked over three months at Precision Sound Studios in New York City, with the drums recorded by Grammy winner James 'Jimmy T' Meslin. Dan Janis, from Baked Goods, joined in as an honorary fourth member on saxophone and flute, so you'll hear those brass and woodwind lines woven into the record alongside the core guitar, bass and drums.
They've played Bowery Ballroom as headliners and supported Ringo Starr, so they're used to the bigger rooms of New York. This is a different kind of night, though — a trio on a small stage in Leeds, with the new album as the main thing they're touring. If you've heard All My Friends Are Cattle and want to hear how it translates live, this is the one to catch.
