War reporter and author Damien Lewis brings to the stage the secret history of the Special Air Service, from World War Two to modern operations.
Damien Lewis brings his talk SAS: Who Dares Wins to City Varieties Music Hall on Monday 17 May 2027, starting at 19:30. Lewis is an award-winning war reporter and best-selling author, and the evening is built around the secret history of the Special Air Service, the world's most legendary special forces unit.
He draws on years of frontline reporting and exclusive access to classified sources to trace the unit from its daring birth in the Second World War through to high-stakes modern-day operations. Along the way, he tells untold stories of sabotage missions, undercover rescues and extraordinary acts of courage, and the show reveals real-life accounts of heroism, sacrifice and strategy. It's the kind of thing that works well as a talk: a mix of historical context and the specific, human stories that usually stay behind closed doors.
