Join a friendly and fun community choir with warm-up exercises and songs to promote wellbeing; open to all with no prior experience needed.
Community Choir is back at Leeds City Museum on Friday 6 November, and it's a monthly thing, so if you can't make this one, there's another session on Friday 20 November. It's a community choir in the truest sense: open to everyone, regardless of whether you've ever sung in a group before.
The sessions are built around two things. First, there are warm-up exercises to get your voice ready and loosen you up, and then there are the songs themselves. The whole thing is run with wellbeing in mind, so it's more about the act of singing together than about hitting a perfect note or putting on a polished performance. It's the kind of thing you do for the singing itself, not for the applause at the end.
One of the best bits is that it's completely open to all. You don't need any previous experience to join in, and there's no prior rehearsal requiredโyou just turn up and sing. If you've spent years singing in the shower or humming along to the radio but have never stood in a choir, this is exactly the kind of place to start. It's as much about the social side of it as the music.

They describe it as friendly, fun, and open to all, which sums up the vibe pretty well. It's a monthly fixture at Leeds City Museum, so it's easy to drop into whenever it suits you. The next two dates are Friday 6 November and Friday 20 November 2026, both at the museum.
