A live show with a band playing the rhythms of Cuba, from bolero and mambo to son, inspired by the legacy of Buena Vista Social Club.
Buena Vista Live comes to City Varieties Music Hall on Saturday 22 May 2027, with the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club taking the stage. It's a live show that draws on the legacy of the original Buena Vista Social Club, the name that's become shorthand for Cuba's rich cultural tapestry and its soulful, authentic performances. The music sits across Cuban jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz and Cuban traditions.
Over the course of the night, the band works through the rhythms of Cuba, with songs like 'Chan Chan', 'El Cuarto de Tula', 'Candela' and 'Dos Gardenias' among the ones you'll hear. The set covers a fair bit of ground: the romance of bolero, the energy of mambo and salsa, and the soulful sway of son. It's billed as more than a concert, presented as an immersive experience that transports you to the clubs of Havana, with a touch of storytelling and an infectious groove.
