Book Club Leeds October Meet

Book Club Leeds is back at The Midnight Bell on Monday 26 October, from 6:30pm to 10pm. This one is a Halloween special, which has become a bit of a fixture on their calendar, and the books they've picked for it fit the season. There are three on the table: I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, Halloween Party by Agatha Christie, and The Outsider by Stephen King. You only need to pick one of them to bring along and talk about, and there's no pressure to read more than that.

If you've never been, the club runs reader meet-ups across the city and welcomes anyone to join in. The whole thing is built around a friendly atmosphere, and newcomers are always encouraged to share their thoughts, whether they're good, bad or savage. Each month centres on a theme, and this October one leans right into the spooky side of things. The discussions usually stretch over two or three hours, so there's plenty of time to get into the thick of it without rushing.

It's a low-stakes way to spend a Monday evening if you're into reading and fancy talking about it with other people. If you've got questions before you head down, the club directs them to their Instagram page, @bookclubleeds. The meeting is at The Midnight Bell, 101 Water Lane, Holbeck, LS11 5QN, and it's free to attend.
