A mindful yoga session led by Stacey Knoell with live music by Chai Lee, presented by Saint Luke's in the Brandmeyer Great Hall.
Yoga at the Kauffman Center returns to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 AM. It's a Yoga Foundations session led by instructor Stacey Knoell, with live music by Chai Lee. The class takes place in the Brandmeyer Great Hall, the center's grand lobby space that looks out over the Kansas City skyline.
Each session follows a set format: it opens with a short presentation by a Saint Luke's medical professional before the mindful practice takes over, with local musicians weaving the performing arts into the class. The series grew out of a partnership between the Kauffman Center and Saint Luke's Health System announced in November 2016, aimed at connecting and engaging visitors in new, creative ways. Saint Luke's is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system of ten area hospitals and several care practices.
The venue sits in the Crossroads Arts District, a neighborhood where once-vacant warehouses now house carefully curated galleries alongside restaurants, breweries and speakeasies. The Brandmeyer Great Hall is one of the center's larger public spaces, and the views of the city from the lobby are part of the draw. Yoga at the Kauffman Center runs a few times a year in that same hall, so this is one of several sessions scheduled throughout the season.
