Cello and Piano Concert

Dr. Soojin Jin and Mr. Ed Laut are playing a cello and piano concert at the Central Library on Saturday, October 24. It's a duo afternoon, with Dr. Jin on cello and Mr. Laut on piano, and the two of them sharing the stage for the whole set.

The concert is billed as an afternoon of classical music, and that's about the whole of it: two musicians, a cello, a piano, and a program of classical works. There's no larger ensemble or guest appearances to work around, so the focus stays on the interaction between the two instruments. It's the kind of afternoon that works just as well if you're a regular concertgoer as if you just want to spend an hour listening to something classical without having to make a whole night of it.

They're performing in the Helzberg Auditorium inside the library, which keeps the whole thing in the city. The library describes the concert as open to music lovers of all ages, so it's a fine thing to bring along younger listeners who might not usually get out to a classical performance. It's a straightforward, accessible way to hear a cello and piano together in a live setting.

One detail to keep in mind: RSVP is required to attend, so you'll want to let them know you're coming before you show up. The concert runs from 2 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, October 24, at the Central Library's Helzberg Auditorium.
