Stories, songs, and rhymes for the youngest patrons and their caregivers at the Waldo Branch.
Baby Storytime is back at the Waldo Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Wednesday, December 2, from 9:30 to 10:15 AM. It's built for the library's youngest patrons and their caregivers, mixing stories, songs, and rhymes into a session that doubles as a chance for grown-ups to connect. The whole thing sits within the wider Kids Storytime programming of the Kansas City Public Library, so if you're already in the system, this is just one of the many options for the little ones.
If you've never been to the Waldo Branch, it's at 201 East 75th Street in Kansas City, MO. It's one of the system's most popular branches, and it's got a bit of history behind it: it was once the Southwest Branch, a small outpost at the old Southwest High School on Wornarr Road. The current building opened as the South Branch in December 1988, and back then it came equipped with an electronic centre of IBM PC and Apple IIE computers, electric typewriters, and printers. Since then, it's grown into a neighbourhood meeting place for local organisations and associations, so it's more than just a place to check out books.

One thing to keep in mind before you head over: the library may videotape or photograph sessions for its marketing and promotional communications. If that's something you're not comfortable with, it's worth knowing beforehand. Otherwise, it's a straightforward morning session for infants and the adults who bring them. It runs from 9:30 to 10:15 AM on Wednesday, December 2, at the Waldo Branch.
