A creative pop-in craft night where local artists lead attendees through various creative mediums for skill development and free expression.
Art Bar is back at Casual Animal Brewing Company on Wednesday, October 14, at 5 PM. It's a weekly thing, so if you can't make this one, there are plenty more to choose from: October 21 and 27, November 4, 11, 18 and 25, and December 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. It's set up as a pop-in craft night or an artist tutorial, and the format is simple: a local artist leads the room through a creative medium, with enough room for both skill development and free individual expression. The session is pitched as a welcoming space to escape through creativity and find community.
Casual Animal is a taproom in the Crossroads Arts District, where local beer, plants and art intersect. It's got floor-to-ceiling greenhouse vibes and 11 rotating taps, including the Local Motive beer, of which $2 from every pint goes to a different Kansas City non-profit every two months. The Crossroads itself is a neighborhood of repurposed warehouses that now house galleries alongside restaurants, breweries and speakeasies, so the whole area fits the vibe.

Because the artists are leading the sessions, each class may carry a fee of $5 to $15 to reimburse them for materials and their time. An RSVP is recommended. The sessions start at 5 PM, and with a run of dates stretching through the end of the year, you can drop in for one night or make it a regular thing.
